A child's room is so much more than a room. It's where they feel safe, get to be completely themselves, and learn to dream. I'm Lisa, and these are exactly the kind of rooms I make for your little one.

Every room I make starts as a story, never a mood board. Here are two worlds I've already built, each one shaped around the child who falls asleep inside it.

One of my favourites. I built this little world around The Nutcracker: warm candlelit stripes that climb the walls, a red painted fireplace with a wooden horse keeping watch on the mantel, and a rug of moon and stars where every daydream lands softly. It hums like a music box, and your child is the one who winds it.
Soft as a single feather. I built this nursery around Swan Lake: a felt swan spreading its wings across the wall above a rug of lily pads, a sheepskin rocker ready for midnight lullabies, and a berry red dresser that glows like a jewel in the afternoon light.
Every wall is a page. Every room, a story still being written.
Chapter Three
Your little one is only this small once.

I'm Lisa, designer and stylist. I know just how much a room can shape a child: the way the right space can hold them, calm them, and give them somewhere to dream.
My thing is colour and feeling. I find the exact shade that turns a wall into a safe place to dream, and I weave every cushion and tiny object into a whole that still feels right when your child is ten.
That's the difference. I don't just decorate. I start with your child, who they are or who they're growing into, then build a room around them, with a hundred little details chosen on purpose.
Chapter Four
A room that still feels magical in five years isn't luck. I build it in four steps, each one on purpose.
I start with your child, never a catalogue. Who they are or who they will become, what lights them up, the world you dream of for them. Everything grows from there.
The heart of it, and the hardest part to get right. I pull palettes from ballet and fairy tale, balanced so a room feels alive without ever shouting.
Pieces I hunt down with patience. The vintage, the handmade, the future heirloom. Nothing bought just to replace it next year.
The wooden horse on the mantel, the felt swan on the wall. The small, secret touches your child will still remember as a grown up.
That is why families keep their Once Upon a Room long after ordinary nursery decor would have come down.
Chapter Five
From our first hello to the moment the door swings open, every room follows the same four chapters.
We meet, at your place or over coffee, and I listen. Who is this room for, and which world do they already love?
I design the world before I build it. Palette, materials, the feeling of walking in. You see it all before a single nail goes up.
I source, restore and style. The vintage finds, the custom pieces, the little details that take time to get right.
The door opens. Your child steps into a world built entirely for them, and the story begins.

Chapter Nine
I'm based in The Hague and design all over the Netherlands. Somewhere further away? Just ask, I travel for the right project.
A styling session can happen within a few weeks. A full room, from first chat to reveal, usually takes six to twelve weeks, depending on sourcing.
Children's rooms and nurseries are my heart, but the same story-driven approach works beautifully for play spaces, reading nooks and family corners too.
